Mission Statement
The Ouray Climbers Alliance was founded to serve as a unified voice for climbers in Ouray County and surrounding areas through advocacy, stewardship, and education.
Founding Principles
The Ouray Climbers Alliance is a group of passionate, like-minded climbers who care deeply about the climbing around Ouray, Colorado.
The main objectives of the OCA are to:
- Create a unified voice and identity for all climbers in the area, both residents and visitors.
- Act as a bridge between climbers and land managers as well as to the local community in order to secure and maintain sustainable and long-term access to climbing areas.
- Sponsor and execute service projects at climbing areas including erosion control and prevention, hardware replacement, and other essential crag improvements.
- Educate the public and the youth about responsible climbing practices as well as promoting outreach programs to expose people to the joy of climbing.
The Ouray Climbers Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and Access Fund affiliate that aims to raise funds, obtain grants, and organize efforts to improve local recreation areas for the benefit of local climbers and other user groups, with the end goal of reducing environmental impact and degradation from climbers.
Anyone is welcome to make tax-deductible donations or become a member. Please consider joining the OCA with a yearly membership rate of $30 to help make a difference in the climbing future of the greater Ouray area.
